TREE INVENTORY

If you don’t know what you have, you can’t manage it. We’ll help you identify the trees on your property and provide valuable information about their condition and best practices for maintaining them. We recommend most customers start here.

TREE WORK PRESCRIPTIONS

Our trained eyes can give you a list of recommended work items to keep your trees safe and healthy. We’ll walk you through job site logistics and options so that you can take your work order to any tree service for a bid. A consultation comes with no incentive to “sell” you anything, so you can feel confident you are getting thorough and unbiased advice on what’s best for you and your trees. To avoid conflicts of interest, Carlson Tree Consultants will not bid on any recommended tree work. We’ll encourage clients to bid out their prescribed work orders to any local service with the confidence that comes of an enhanced knowledge of their trees’ needs.

DIY TREE CARE ADVICE

 If you’d like to be hands-on with your trees, we can help you learn pruning techniques and other skills that you can use to save money and become a better tree steward.

HAZARD ASSESSMENT

Quantify the level of risk a given tree presents, so that you can make an informed decision about how to proceed based on your risk tolerance. Nick Carlson is TRAQ-certified (Tree Risk Assessment Qualification) through the International Society of Arboriculture.

TREE PRESERVATION PLANS FOR NEW CONSTRUCTION

Are you building on a new lot, or adding on to an existing structure? We can help you identify existing trees to preserve and provide guidance on how best to protect them from damage during the construction process.

"LEVEL 2" ASSESSMENTS

If you have additional concerns or questions after an initial consultation, we can return for a canopy inspection or utilize specialized equipment such as the resistograph to look closer at a tree’s health and prognosis.
